A True Breakthrough

For hundreds of years, luthiers and musicians have been trying to find solutions to problems with balance, clarity, and unpleasant harmonics in their string instruments. An exciting advance in technology is now available. Nicholas Frirsz, a fifth generation Master Luthier, has created and patented a very innovative tailpiece.

The Frirsz tailpiece dramatically improves the projection, balance, clarity, and sensitivity of a string instrument. Wolf tones are no longer a problem as this tailpiece virtually eliminates them. This design has been thoroughly tested and proven. It works.

The Frirsz tailpiece optimizes the harmonics in the area below the bridge, and makes the bridge more efficient by redistributing the down force on it. See our Tailpiece Technical Discussion for a more detailed description of this amazing invention.

Frirsz tailpieces for violins and violas are currently available. The Frirsz cello tailpiece will be available in the summer of 2010.
